In this video, part of the Tiki Express Tutorial series, we begin a new mini-series exploring one of Tiki’s most powerful features: Wiki Plugins.
Out of the box, Tiki Wiki CMS comes packed with over 250 built-in plugins that extend the functionality of your wiki pages. In this guide, we will look at how to find available plugins, enable or disable them in the Control Panel, and quickly edit plugin settings directly on a page.

1. Accessing Plugin Help in the Editor

When editing any wiki page, Tiki provides built-in documentation for available plugins:

Click Edit on your wiki page.
Open the Wiki Help panel.
Select the Plugin Help tab.

Here, you will see a list of currently active plugins along with their syntax and usage instructions.

2. Activating and Deactivating Plugins in the Control Panel

Not all 250+ plugins are enabled by default. To manage which plugins are active on your site:

From the Plugin Help tab, click the link to Activate / Deactivate Plugins (or navigate to the Editing and Plugins panel in the admin Control Panel).
Browse through the extensive list of plugins.
Check or uncheck plugins to enable or disable them as needed.

Tip: If you are new to navigating administrative preferences and search filters in Tiki, check out our tutorial on Administration Tips in Tiki.

3. Editing Plugin Parameters Inline (Toggle Edit Icons)

Instead of manually modifying plugin code in the raw page editor, Tiki allows you to edit plugin parameters directly on the live page using visual controls:

Open the Page Actions menu on your page.
Select Toggle Edit Icons.
Small puzzle piece icons will appear next to the plugins rendered on your page.
Click the puzzle icon to open a pop-up modal where you can edit parameters visually.

Examples:

Plugin Image: Click the puzzle icon to quickly update dimensions, alignment, or image source options.
Plugin Remarkbox: Open the plugin parameters to change the alert type (e.g., changing a standard box to an Information box) or hide the close button so users cannot dismiss the message.

Summary

Tiki’s plugin system gives you incredible flexibility, and using inline edit icons makes configuring plugin parameters fast and easy.
