The road so far (about us)

30 years
building and running IT systems, networks and websites

Since 2004
in the Tiki development team, release coordinator, then project administrator

One contact
who knows your systems, backed by a network of open source specialists

From information to sovereignty

OpenSource Solutions grew out of three decades of hands-on work. It started with Mac and Windows networks, when connecting a company was still a craft, and moved to the web as soon as the web was born: support and maintenance for small businesses, web solutions and CRM for start-ups, then network security and firewalls. Since then, our work has followed one line, in three steps.

1. Information

Wikis, knowledge bases and intranets, so that organisations can structure and share what they know.

2. Infrastructure

Hosting, security and monitoring, so that every tool stays up, stays protected and stays yours.

3. Sovereignty

Platforms and private AI that organisations run by their own rules, with their own keys.

A core team and a trusted network

Every project is run by our core team in Paris, who know your systems and stay your contacts from the first call to daily maintenance. Around it, we bring in open source specialists we have worked with for years: developers, system administrators and security experts, many of them from the Tiki community. Each project gets the skills it needs, when it needs them.

Our references include the maintenance and upgrade of a scientific publishing system that consolidates hazard information for European emergency response, a knowledge base for a national infrastructure coordination company, a government employment agency, childcare platforms and intranets for medical teams. We also work as a technical partner for IT and digital service providers, who bring us in for their own clients.

The founder: Bernard Sfez

OpenSource Solutions was founded by Bernard Sfez, entrepreneur and technical architect with three decades of experience. His career has one constant: technology should give people autonomy, not create dependency. More on bernardsfez.com.

  • A core member of Tiki. In the Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware development team since 2004, release coordinator for several years, and today one of the project's administrators. He organises quality assurance and coordination for a project where hundreds of developers around the world commit code every month.
  • Technical leadership. CTO, then product and project manager on large projects: a remote video service for smartphones for a major European telecom operator, point-of-sale systems for an eight-store retail network with more than 5,000 products, payment gateway and logistics integrations with international teams.
  • Trusted with sensitive work. Bernard holds a security clearance for work in the defence industry. Those projects are confidential and are not listed here.
  • A teacher. Author of the Tiki Express Tutorials, video tutorials that help administrators and developers take control of their tools.

Sovereign AI, built and tested in-house

Many organisations rush to generic AI tools that send their data to external providers. We took a different path. Our assistants answer from your documents with open source models that run on our own servers, and they reach your knowledge base through a tool layer we built and control. Neither the question, the documents read nor the answer goes to an AI provider, unless someone explicitly chooses an external model. Your documents do not become anyone's training data.

We do not choose models on reputation. Every model is tested on the client's own questions, with traps such as a task that cannot be done, then tested again in the real interface your teams use. A guard watches the models every minute: their fingerprints, their access to the internet, the tools the agents call. On 22 October 2026, when an American AI provider's relay failed for an evening, our local assistants and our test bench kept running normally.

See our private AI assistants, the private chatbot, the AI readiness audit, how we secure and monitor a local AI, and why an AI that cannot succeed changes the task.

What we deliver

We design, deploy, document and maintain open source infrastructure for SMEs, enterprises and institutions. We work with your team to understand how your systems are really used, then we handle the technical complexity so your people can focus on their work.

Why partner with us

We do not sell licences, we deliver freedom. With open source, you can see what your software does, change it when your needs change, and leave any vendor without losing your data. The code can be audited: no hidden backdoors, no mystery updates.

Radical transparency is how we work. Every client has a real-time view of every task, intervention and incident, along with the protocols and documentation of their systems. No black-box support tickets. We value long-term partnerships with clients who prefer stable infrastructure to the convenience of a subscription.

We optimise for your success, not for billable hours. If your system is resilient, sovereign and out of attackers' reach, we have done our job.

Your tools, your data, your rules.

OpenSource Solutions designs, hosts, secures and maintains open source platforms and private AI for organisations that refuse to be hostages of their own digital tools. We replace vendor lock-in with technical autonomy, and opaque software with code you can audit.

Absolutely. We take a Full Stack approach: we don’t just audit the CMS (Tiki, WordPress, etc.); we analyze your entire infrastructure. This includes server configuration, network security, database optimization, and the reliability of your traffic analytics.
